Edit Like a Pro With Apple’s Best Video Editing Systems

When it comes to buying a video editing machine, there is a lot of different information out on the web. A lot of it can be contradicting and confusing because there is a lot of technical jargon that is being thrown around like CPU, GPU, RAM, and whatnot. Therefore, it becomes a task for people who are not tech-savvy to conduct research on the machine that they want to buy. So, if you’re looking for a video editing machine and you don’t know what you’re looking for, you’re at the right place. This article will help you shortlist the best machines out there for the same.

Mac Pro

The basic Mac Pro starts at $6000, which can go up to $50000 if you’re willing to spec it up with other various options available. People find it to be extremely pricey, but it’s the price that you’ll have to pay for a premium experience and configuration.

Compared to all the other macs, the Mac Pro is one that stands out owing to its RAM, CPU, graphics, storage, ports, and expandability. The Mac Pro comes without a screen and has to be bought separately. If you’re willing to spend and go for the best, Apple Pro Display XDR is the best; otherwise, you can go for something cheaper, which doesn’t cost the same as an iMac Pro.

The 8-core processor operates memory at 2666MHz.12-core to 28-core processors operate memory at 2933MHz.

iMac Pro

This is an incredible machine at a much cheaper price as compared to the iMac Pro. For 2300$ you get a 5K 27inch monitor, a 3.7Ghz 6-core 9th generation intel i5 processor with a turbo boost of 4.6Ghz in the basic model without any spec up.

The standard need for any video editing machine is 8GB of RAM which can be upgraded to a maximum of 32GB. I’d recommend getting rid of the 2TB Fusion Drive to a 512 SSD Storage. If that’s out of your budget, you can go for the 256GB SSD. If you get a fusion drive, you don’t need to plod yourself with a hard drive as it combines a small portion of the flash storage with the hard drive.

MacBook Pro 2020

The all-new MacBook Pro has been released with the necessary advancements like the newly upgraded keyboard, also called the magic keyboard. The one that did change is that Apple lowered the price effectively by up to $400. In the past, this machine came with a 256GB SSD and 8GB of RAM. Now, for the same price, you get 512GB SSD and 16BG of RAM. Also, getting 32GB of RAM is now possible, and you can now go up all the way to 4TB of SSD. The CPU performance has increased by more than 30% in the newer model. This is going to make a difference for e.g. when you’re loading up audio files in final cut pro, or you have motion tracking software for motion VFX, etc.

One great thing that Apple did is that even the i5 option comes with the best graphics that intel offers, i.e. the G7 graphics.  The only reason it is down in the list is that there are inevitable disadvantages in using a laptop for video editing. So, if you’re starting out as a video editor and you need a machine for small tasks, this is the laptop for you.
