Boruto: Konohamaru Makes a Huge Mistake as He Infiltrates Victor’s Company Looking for Clues

 Konohamaru has been an essential character since he is the mentor of Team 7. Sarada, Boruto and Mitsuki have learned a lot in his tutelage, and he does deserve all the limelight that he gets. He was once a Naruto fanboy who wished to follow his footsteps and become the Hokage. However, he is not as strong as he might like and just recently in the Hashirama cell recovery arc, he along with Mugino was beaten up by Victor. But it would be unfair to judge him on only one fight when he has done well most of the time. Following the footsteps of Hiruzen Sarutobi, the Third Hokage who was also his grandfather and Naruto, he has become a great shinobi. Though he is, without a doubt, very tough and robust. In the latest episode he has proved that he is not very intelligent or strategic.

 Naruto and Shikaramu sent Mugino and Konohamaru for a much diplomatic interaction with Victor who turned out to be a Kara agent. Since their village has no political power in the Land of the Valleys, both of them have been told not to be hostile towards Victor or his allies. Since their actions can be seen as an act of war, they are supposed to not attack in any case. However, they know that they have to somehow find proof that Victor has been plotting some sinister plans with the Kara organization. But the biggest challenge they face is to remain anonymous while they gather evidence since spying could be categorized as a political assault and can be bad for relations with the village. 

When they meet with Victor, they do as they are told, however, the Kara agent makes it very clear that the DNA is his property so they should expect that they somehow get it from him. Even though Konohamaru tried to make the case that the DNA was taken from the first Hokage, Hashirama, Victor couldn’t care less as he appears ready for a legal battle. After failing to convince him diplomatically, they are escorted by his assistants outside the Land of Valleys. However, Mugino and Konohamaru are not ready to give up that easily as they sneak around the facility looking for evidence that will prove that Victor is a thief. But it seems like a rash move on their part since they run the risk of getting caught which would have far-reaching political implications.

Both of them should have had an in-depth discussion over this before they made their move and went into the facility looking for clues. Their actions make no sense, and since Victor and his company are known for tech, there must be cameras there to look for intruders. Konohamaru has risked too much by leaving clues, and if Victor suspects that there has been a break-in in his facility, he will check if the camera caught something. Such evidence can be proved ruinous for Naruto and his mission. 

The most disappointing thing about the whole mission is the sheer lack of presence of mind from Konohamaru. He had used his transformation jutsu to appear like a doctor when he tricked everyone in the Sakuya’s Temple in the Land of Silence to get their hands on the DNA. So, there was no reason that he could not have done the same in this case as well. It seems he went there with no strategy and made a huge mistake as he exposed their mission. By going there, he has done what Shikamaru has told them not to; the failure to use their only weapon in such a situation has not put them at the risk of getting caught. It will be intriguing to see what happens afterwards as Mugino and Konohamaru have exposed themselves in the facility.

Boruto: Unscrupulous and Unprofessional Ninja Alliance Exposed!

 When the major nations like Konoha and Kirigakure came together to form a shinobi alliance forgetting past issues and grudges to fight off enemies like the Kaguya, Madara, and the Akatsuki, it seemed like a new era of prosperity and peace for the world has finally come. But nothing can be further from the truth. After the end of the Fourth Great Shinobi World War, although the major nations did have reasons to rejoice and celebrate but devastated by the war, the smaller nations never got back to their feet.

Episode 160,” The Land of the Silence”, completely exposes the unscrupulous and unprofessional nature of the Ninja alliance. The smaller nations were never able to rebuild themselves after being destroyed in the war. Their abandonment by an alliance led to the rise of criminals who started using smaller nations as a base for all of their shady businesses.

The alliance’s failure to help and protect smaller nations has worked in the favor of Kara. With Naruto and Konoha trying to obtain information from various sources in the terrorists seems reactive. If they had cared for the alliance before, the scenario would have been much different and it would probably have been hard for their adversaries to find safe spots to plan and commit crimes. Since Hashirama Cells are being traded out there, there is a major risk of strengthening shinobi in pursuit of some evil plan.

In the episode, “The Man Who Disappeared”, Victor tells Boruto the consequences of the Great War on the infrastructure and health facilities of the smaller nations, where he also explains how the warriors from these nations never got the recognition or the compensation for the damages they suffered in the war. Boruto also finds out that not only did the alliance fail but also his father, Naruto Uzumaki did not show any compassion and concern for the smaller nations which they desperately needed. The failure of both the alliance and Naruto has such long-term consequences that they are only now showing its true magnitude.

Boruto’s Team 7 along with Konohamaru and Mugino go to the Land of Valleys from where they trek to the Land of Silence to investigate the black markets there. The DNA of the First Hokage, Hashirama Senju is being sold there which is terrible news since it would help create shinobi as strong as him which will be terrible news for the major nations, which are so self-absorbed in themselves that they have failed even to protect the interests of their people.

What is even more shocking is when Team 7’s Boruto, Sarada, and Mitsuki arrive there they are left stupefied by the presence of so many criminals who are casually roaming around freely. Mugino and Konohamaru can even pinpoint many of the wanted ninjas. This seems very strange as the ninja alliance has not even tried going to these places to weed out the criminals. All of this just reflects the lack of intent which is now going to cause serious repercussions.

Even though the location of this black market is known to them but there seems to be no concern to stop the black market from functioning and the hotspot is given a free run without any intervention for the alliance. Even when the medical ninja Kirisaski is caught, we once again witness the casual approach that has led to this situation. Since the rogue knows about people who are looking to buy Hashirama’s DNA, Konohamaru still proposes to let him off the hook if he gives the info about people involved in the DNA trade. This shows how clueless the ninja alliance is. It is criminal to let the medical ninja go scot-free even though he agrees honestly to tell the names. The right thing to do would be to take him to Konoha so that there can be a further investigation by Sasuke. 

It appears that the alliance does not take the threat seriously enough and for them, the ninjas are not worthy of investigation. But to believe that those ninjas pose no existential threat will be a huge mistake as there is such a thing as an inconsequential ninja. Even Mugino agrees that the people dealing in the black market are deadly, so it’s just stupid of the alliance to let these groups grow unchecked. 

It is only because of this unrestrained growth of criminal hotspots that lets Kara and Akatsuki take advantage. It is disappointing to see past mistakes being repeated once again. Such a laid-back attitude can have significant consequences. What is even scarier is the fact that the headbands of Team 7 are also being sold in the marke,t meaning the criminals are even infiltrating nations undercover. The arrogance of alliance to let the black markets operate the way they are operating is going to come at a great cost since there are weapons there that are capable of mass destruction. If there is further delay in action from them, they are bound to be caught off guard. Now only time will tell if the alliance is going to learn from its past mistakes and take the right action in such matters of great significance.

Boruto: Now Is the Time for The Return of Orochimaru and Kabuto

 In the last episode, Boruto realized that Naruto Uzumaki acted like a politician and was ignorant of the devastating effects of The Great Shinobi World War on smaller nations who never recovered from the war and its aftermath. He found out the alliance was merely a sham, and it only cared for the interests of major nations.

Things only have become even more complicated in the new episode “The Hashirama Cell.” Boruto and his friends were investigating the case of a missing scientist in the Land of Valleys. When they found out that things go way deeper soldier of fortune, and reprobate ninjas as the DNA of one of Konoha’s most powerful Hokage, Hashirama is militarized for unethical and shady purposes. The worrying thing about his DNA use is that it can lead to the emergence of almost godlike shinobi, which can be a peril for the peace of the ninja world. But this unique situation is perfect for the return of the two former villains – Orochimaru and Kabuto.

Orochimaru was a legendary Sannin from Konohagakure, a hidden-village of the Land of Fire. He wanted to know all of the world’s secrets, but knowing the impossibility of his task, he wanted to achieve immortality so that he would have ample time to achieve his goal. In pursuit of his ambitions, he performed various unethical experiments as a consequence of which he had to defect from Konoha since he was caught red-handed. After that, he became extremely vengeful and sought the destruction of the village; for him, the destruction and chaos didn’t matter much as he wanted to showcase what he had learned through his experiments. After wreaking havoc for some time, he realized that his approach was wrong. 

 Orochimaru has fought with Jiraiya and Tsunade’s likes, the legendary shinobis, which was proof of his dangerous powers since very few can stand toe to toe with these great ninjas. He used to be the main anti-hero in Naruto, in which he tried to prove himself as a god by devastating Konoha. He also attempted resurrections and tried to use Itachi and Sasuki for his immoral experiments. He always had a keen interest in Harshirama’s cells.

Harshirama’s cells are definitely worth the hype as they were used to create combatants like Madara. Shin and Obito. Even Orochimaru’s own son, Mitsuki, is infected by the DNA of Harshirama, which means that he too probably will go on to become a dangerous warrior. However, all of his past actions were redeemed when he decided to side with Naruto and his team to battle against Madara and Kaguya. He has also tried to make amends for his past by experimenting with making Konoha a better place.

But it would be unwise and, in fact, stupid to believe that there is no possibility of Orochimaru going back to his old ways. In fact, him decision to engineer his son Mitsuki raises concerns about his apparent change of heart. Since his work is always clouded with secrecy, it is tough to predict his actions with surety. He may even use his son’s genes to help the old and the needy or go on to upgrade him to achieve his unfulfilled sinister ambitions. Only time will tell where his loyalties truly lie. 

Kabuto had always been obsessed with the Hokage, and while working under Orochimaru, he did his own experiments and even surpassed his mentor as he went on to successfully do things Orochimaru failed at. Just like his mentor, he too, was very intrigued by the Harshirama’s cells. As he loved science, it will be great to see him back working on using the great Hokage’s genes to help the needy and to make new weaponry. Both Kabuto and Orochimaru’s knowledge of medical science could prove to be of great importance for Konoha’s village in a situation this desperate, as the numbers of kids who need attention keep increasing exponentially. It’s true that both men have pasts which makes it hard to trust them with such a great responsibility and there is always the risk of them going back their old ways and starting some other evil project. But this might also become the point where both of them redeem themselves for good by helping the people through such tumultuous times. It is impossible to predict what their true intentions might turn out to be but one thing is certain that if they come to the fore once again, they will have fans waiting desperately to see what their possible return will mean.
