Huawei has introduced a pair of latest earbuds with dynamic noise cancelation that could compete with Apple AirPods Pro. Huawei’s FreeBuds Pro is the newest addition to its wireless earbuds family. It offers you a tremendous powerful sound and at a cost less than Apple AirPods Pro.
Wireless earphones are responsible for both great sound and excellent connection. Most of the time, while listening to music on wireless earbuds and phones inside the pocket, the connections regularly keep on dropping. Apple AirPods Pro is one of the best earbuds in this scenario. However, Huawei is also not far behind. Huawei also offers a great sound with an excellent unbreakable connection and even with a noise-cancellation feature. Huawei’s earlier released FreeBuds 3 provides great sound, has the capability of good active noise cancelation, and also comes with a stable connection for music. Huawei’s FreeBuds Pro is more advanced than FreeBuds 3 and offers more improvements.
Huawei also explained that the FreeBuds Pro is the first “true” wireless stereo earphones that support dynamic, active noise cancelation. It also offers you three noise-cancellation profiles: general, cozy, and ultimate. According to the research by Huawei, FreeBuds Pro has a noise-cancellation rating of 40dB. It also comes with two types of modes – one is voice mode, which is used to avoid external interference, and the second mode is awareness mode that picks up everything. On the other hand, Apple AirPods Pro uses external and internal both the microphones to detect the sounds and to cancel them out again.
Design & Other Feature Differences
If we talk about the designs of both the earbuds, they look somewhat similar. Both of the earbuds have silicone tips that fit over the speaker. The inner part of the FreeBuds Pro is thicker and smaller in size than AirPods Pro. Huawei has improved a lot in the design section of FreeBuds Pro as compared to FreeBuds 3. The shape of FreeBuds 3 was like a triangle, whereas the shape of FreeBuds Pro is somewhat similar to AirPods Pro.
Huawei FreeBuds Pro has an 11mm dynamic driver. On the other hand, AirPods Pro uses a high-excursion Apple driver and high-dynamic-range amplifier. To protect the connections and calls from being dropped, AirPods Pro has a dual beam-forming and inward-facing microphone, dual optical sensors, a force sensor, and accelerometers to detect the motion of the user. On the other hand, Huawei FreeBuds Pro has a sensor that uses bone vibrations for a better experience in listening to music and answering the calls. FreeBuds Pro is also capable of connecting with two smart devices simultaneously. AirPods Pro also has a similar capability but only with Apple devices.
If we compare the battery life of both the earbuds, battery life is dependent on the use of the device. If you turn on the active noise canceling mode and transparency mode, the battery of FreeBuds Pro can last up to 4 hours, whereas the battery of AirPods Pro can last up to 4.5 hours with everything turned on. However, the battery life of AirPods Pro is 5 hours with everything turned off, and the battery life of FreeBuds Pro is 7 hours with everything turned off. Talking about the prices of both the earbuds, the Huawei’s FreeBuds Pro is set to be priced at USD 235 approximately. On the other hand, Apple’s AirPods Pro is set to be priced at USD 249 approximately.
